HEMET, Riverside County — October 25, 2026. Hemet’s City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday, October 27, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 450 E. Latham Avenue, following a separately listed 5 p.m. closed session. The official agenda, posted October 23, includes industrial and warehouse rules, food truck regulations and community programs. These are proposed actions, not decisions already made.
Industrial and logistics standards
The agenda lists a second reading and proposed adoption of Ordinance No. 2084, setting development, siting, truck-access and operational standards for logistics, e-commerce and warehouse uses. The proposed language concerns manufacturing zones and approval procedures. Readers should consult the full staff report for legal definitions, exceptions and land-use effects. Its placement on an agenda does not mean Council has passed the ordinance.
Food truck regulations
Council is also scheduled to discuss Hemet’s current food truck regulations. The staff recommendation expressly says no food truck ordinance is before the Council for adoption at this session; the requested action is possible direction for future staff work. Another item proposes a first reading to clarify business-license treatment for places of worship.
Garden naming and Youth Council
Additional discussion items include a proposal to name the city community garden the Linda Krupa Community Garden, proposed Youth Council bylaws and an appointment to fill a Planning Commission vacancy. All remain subject to Council consideration.
How residents can participate
According to the agenda, written comments can be submitted through the city system before 2 p.m. on the meeting date; in-person speakers must follow the posted comment procedure. The notice describes a general three-minute time limit and livestream access at hemetca.gov/agenda. Remote telephone access may depend on applicable conditions, so check the current meeting instructions rather than assuming it is always offered.
Full reports are linked from the October 27 city agenda. Later minutes and recordings are needed to establish which measures passed. More reporting is available through Hemet News.
