HEMET — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL REPORT. Hemet Parks Department publishes scheduled weekly closures for two neighborhood facilities so maintenance crews can work safely and efficiently.
Which parks are affected
Weston Park is closed every Monday and Gibbel Park every Tuesday, the city states. These recurring closures are different from storm damage or a one-time emergency notice.
A system of eleven parks
The city maintains eleven parks, including Mary Henley, Simpson, Cawston Community, Weston, Gibbel and other neighborhood recreation sites, handling landscaping, irrigation, litter and play equipment inspections.
A caveat for private events
The Parks Department currently states that park reservations are suspended. A public park being physically accessible on Wednesday is not proof a party or sports team can book exclusive use. Call Public Works at 951-765-3712 before an organized event.
